At last Christmas is nearly here. I don’t think I have ever been so in need of a break from uni, from St Andrews and from work and travelling. Over next week, which is still supposedly part of the semester, I am going to be doing a lot of partying and drinking. It has been such a long time since I have had the chance to go out with certain groups of friends. At On Tuesday I am going out for a proper pubbing session with some of my closest St Andrews friends. some point next week, probably on Thursday after our last lab – ever, I will be going out with my friends from my class for a bit of a end of year celebration. On Friday I am going to brave The Bop and its drastically cheesy music. Also on Friday there is going to be Christmas dinner at Ardblair which will be lovely. I will probably head round there early and help with the preparations. This celebration is due to run over onto Saturday where lots of my friends are gathering.
After this I am going to be heading home, home home. I am really looking forward to being able to spend some time with my family. My mum and sister will be there as well as my grandparents. I haven’t seen much of my mum and sister this year what with spending the summer in Oxford and most other holidays studying or travelling. Infact, when I think about it, I can’t wait to get back, and fattened up
Also Oli is going to be coming up to stay at my mum’s for the week before Christmas. It seems like ages since I have last seen him (when infact it has only been two weeks). Thankfully, Oli has already met my family and they like him so there will be no pressure at all. I plan to take Oli into Glasgow and Edinburgh and show him the cities, Edinburgh in particular is beautiful at Christmas time. The rest of the time will probably be filled with much relaxation and port if I have anything to do with it.
Doesn’t it sound like the most wonderful way to wind down after a hard semester.
After Christmas I am going to have to start getting myself in gear for the impending exams in January, but before I confind myself to the doom of the library I am hoping to meet up with Oli and some of his friends from uni along with some of my St Andrews friends in Edinburgh for Hogmanay.
